TweetTarbert Harbour, Kintyre
Tarbert Harbour is the focal point of the village, and is always busy. You can watch the catch being landed, or admire the yachts, cruisers and traditional boats that line the pontoons of the marina.
The harbour was designed by Thomas Telford, as part of a huge programme of canal, road and bridge construction between 1806 and 1821 by The Commissioners for Highland Roads and Bridges, with the aim of alleviating social problems in the Highlands by improving communication.
