TweetThe Standing Stone at the summit of Dumgoyne, north of Glasgow, looking north towards Loch Lomond. The islands of Creinch, Torrinch and Inchcailloch can be seen on the Loch. Ben Lomond is just visible on the horizon on the right.
The stone was helicoptered into placed and erected by the Strathendrick Rotarians on 31 May 2000. At one time, a metal view indicator was attached to the stone, but this has been removed.
As the sun sets, the low clouds create an ethereal atmosphere, illuminating the route of the West Highland Way below.
