TweetThis is Midhope Castle, near Abercorn in West Lothian.
The earliest known record of the building was in 1478, when a castle belonging to the Martin family was in the location. It was remodelled in 1587 by Alexander Drummond, and again in 1678 by the Hopes, who would go on to build nearby Hopetoun House a couple of decades later.
The castle features as Lallybroch, the fictional home of Jamie Fraser in the TV series, Outlander.
