The Crannog at Kenmore is a reconstruction of an iron age fortress built on stilts in the waters of lochs around Scotland to keep the occupants safe from enemies.

The stunning sunset over Loch Tay creates a serene and tranquil atmosphere as the Crannog stands tall, surrounded by the shimmering water and majestic mountains. Learn about the history of the Scottish Crannog Centre and the Scottish Trust for Underwater Archaeology as you take a walk along the Rob Roy Way.

This shot was taken in October 2015. The crannog was destroyed by fire in June 2021.

This picture was taken on 31 October 2015.
