TweetThe Silver Glen in Ochil Hills above Alva, Clackmannanshire, boasts of the Silver Burn, a waterfall that tumbles down through the woodland park.
The glen takes its name from the rich seam of silver ore discovered here in the 18th century - the largest ever found in the British Isles. The area is steeped in history, with Alva House, once home to John Erskine, a Jacobite supporter during the Battle of Sheriffmuir.
The Silver Glen is a nature lover's paradise, with rocks, trees, plants, and leaves that provide a perfect background to the cascading waters of the Silver Burn.
