TweetAbercorn Church, taken on a beautiful Spring day in 2015.
Abercorn Church, in the hamlet of Abercorn, West Lothian, was one of the most important religious sites in medieval Scotland. Abercorn sat in the frontier between the British, Pictish, Anglian and Scottish factions of the early Christians. A church was founded here by St.Ninian in the late 400s, and the monks of Lindisfarne established a monastery on the site around 150 years later, in the days when Northumberland extended as far as the southern shore of the River Forth.
The graveyard was used as the location of Frank's grave in the TV series Outlander.
