Standing on a rocky peninsula, Blackness Castle commands a stunning view of the Firth of Forth.

Originally built as a fortress to protect the area from sea invasion, this ancient monument is now a popular tourist destination in West Lothian, Scotland. The dark stone walls, the jagged rocks, and the seaweed-draped shores make this castle look like a ship that never sailed. As you explore the ruins, you can't help but feel the weight of history that surrounds you. From the gate to the fence, every corner of this castle tells a story of battles, sieges, and secret plots.

If you're a fan of Outlander, you might recognize this castle as Fort William, where Jamie Fraser was held captive in Season One. But even if you're not a fan, you'll be amazed by the beauty and mystery of this Scottish gem.
