TweetThe pretty little fishing village of Kinghorn sits in a bay on the Fife coast, Scotland.
The village boasts two beaches: Kinghorn Beach and Pettycur Bay. It is known as the place where King Alexander III of Scotland died after falling from his horse at the top of a steep cliff during a storm on the night of 19 March 1286, sparking the Scottish Wars of Independence as King Edward I of England tried to claim the country for his own.
