TweetThese are the Woodcockdale Cottages and Stables on the Union Canal, near Linlithgow.
This category A listed building, built around 1820, once would have provided stables for the horses that worked the towpath on the Union Canal (now commemorated as The Kelpies, a few miles away from here). The walk west from Linlithgow shows the canal at its best, also taking in the Avon Aqueduct at Muiravonside Country Park, a few hundred metres on from this building.
The cottages are now home to the West Lothian Sea Scouts.
